Youth Sailing Section
The TBC Youth Squad is open to any member, or potential member, from the age of 8 years (risings 7’s can be taken) to 18 years.
The Teifi Boating Club has a Child Protection Policy and our designated Child Protection Officer is Eve O'Neil and her photograph and details of how to contact her are on the main club notice board.
The Youth Section has a Youth Representative on the TBC Management Committee. The Youth Rep is Emma Thomas she has full voting rights and any matter you may wish to have raised please contact her.
We sail all throughout the year, most weekends, when the tide allows.
The club owns:
- 5 Optimist Dinghies
- 5 Topper Dinghies
- and 2 Laser Picos
We offer supervised sailing, with tuition and safety boat cover; initially within the safety of the estuary and in the bay once experienced, and we welcome anyone with an interest in sailing from beginners with nothing more than enthusiasm to experienced helms with their own boats.
During the season we compete in local regattas and the West Wales Youth Racing Circuit and have members competing farther a field including National Championships (Toppers last year at Weymouth) and one member who travelled to Lake Garda in Italy for the Topper Worlds.
The Youth Squad has its own identity within the club and enjoys the social activities with or without parents.
