Afon Teifi Fairways Committee
This body, set up in 1972, holds the lease of the riverbed from Pen-yr-Ergyd (The Narrows) to Cardigan Hospital. All mooring is controlled by Mooring Masters appointed by the Fairway committee. Further details can be obtained from the following Fairway Committee Officials:-

The Fairway Committee have their Annual General Meeting every year in the month of March, which is a public meeting.
Speed Limits in the River
There is a mandatory speed restriction in certain parts of the river and a part of the channel out towards the Cliff hotel of 8 knots between the beginning of May and the end of October. Please see Ceredigion County Council signs at the top of the slipway for full details. (correct as of Dec 2006)
There is an advisory speed restriction of 8 Knots in the river between Cardigan Hospital and Pen-yr-Ergyd (the narrows). Above the bridge the limit is 5 knots.
The Fairways Committee have an advisory speed limit of 5knots through the moorings.
Bass Nursery area
From 1st May to 31st October in any year it is an offence to fish from a boat in the river Teifi and estuary out to a line between the Cliff Hotel and the Boathouse, Penrhyn for Bass and /or any species of any sea fish using sand eels as bait. (Fisheries Committee) See notice in club house
