On Saturday 13th June several members of the TBC Youth Squad travelled to Pembrokeshire Yacht Club to partake in the third of the West Wales Region, Club Racing Circuit events.
A series of four races held over the day saw heavy mist almost force an abandonment of the event before the first race was over, but the sun moved the mist and although the wind dropped considerably for the last race making local knowledge of tides more important than anything else, all four races were completed and an enjoyable day was had by all.
The Youth Squad competed in the Topper Fleet and also the Mixed Handicapped Fleet
TBC sailors excelled in the Topper fleet with Hanna Campbell posting four straight wins and romping home a clear overall winner. Daniel Rowlands finished third overall, his best result was a second and had it not been for a poor start in race two forcing him to return and recross the start line, TBC might have been able to notch up a one/two. Willian Thomas in his first year sailing a Topper made an excellent show finishing sixth in one race and showing great consistancy. Had there been a team prize I’m sure it would now be on display in the TBC .
Mathew Parsons sailing a Byte C11 in the Handicap Fleet had a really good sail but unfortunatly just missed out on the overall placings.
WELL DONE TO ALL OUR YOUNG SAILORS!
