Welcome
The Teifi Boating Club (TBC)
AFLOAT or ashore, the Teifi Boating Club has something to offer everyone. Our sailing activities cover a full range, racing, cruising, power boating and youth training programmes too.
Whilst we are a members’ club, visiting yachtsmen are always welcome. The majority of our members certainly have an interest in boats and boating but you don’t have to be an established sailor to join the club.
Situated right at the mouth of the River Teifi estuary, about 2 miles from the historic market town of Cardigan the club provides the perfect base to explore the magnificent Cardigan Bay. From the Elizabethan period to the mid-nineteenth century, Cardigan was regarded as one of Wales’ most important ports. It also became a centre for shipbuilding in the area. Over two hundred ships were built on the shores of the River Teifi and ancillary industries were involved in the production of sails and ropes as well as burning lime and iron casting.
The Teifi Boating Club has a thriving membership and warmly encourages anyone to come along and see what the club is all about. The club offers sailing, power boating and fishing events throughout the year. Racing is now mainly in cruisers, from racing from ’round the cans’ to longer passage races to various ports up and down Cardigan Bay.
Our recently updated facilities are second to none with refurbished showers and toilets, large lounge with ‘wet & dry areas’, a well stocked bar which also offers hot snacks and an outside seating area with wonderful views across the Teifi estuary.
Social activities are varied to say the least, from illustrated talks and themed dinners to BBQs and discos we offer something for everyone. Please see our ‘News and Events’ page for details.
